I've looked through some posts on Hire-A-Dore, but so far the only employment opportunities available require either a car or lab experience. I know dining hires throughout the year but a lot of upperclassmen have said that it isn't the greatest working environment + the hours aren't that flexible, and considering that it's my first semester of college, I don't think I want to put myself through that. Are there any other good jobs that aren't listed on the website or should I wait until school starts? And by good I mean in terms of flexibility and <10hrs/week preferably, totally fine with minimum wage.

There’s a work-study job fair on campus in the first few days. Keep an eye out for it.

I’m not eligible for federal work study

There are non-work study jobs there as well. It’s just a fair for (mostly) on-campus student jobs.
