jobs?

Does anyone plan on getting a part time job while going to school?

Pretty sure MANY people are. I am not though. I want to see if I can handle school alone first.

work study is just two hours a day petty sure you can throw it in a full time student schedule specially if you get an office job you can study at it

Work study does have a limit to how many hours you work. I think it may be about 19. If I find it on the Career Center Website, I’ll post it here.

My friend isn’t officially a work study student, but she works while going to school. She’s doing well academically (3.6-ish GPA). It’s doable, but time management and planning is an absolute must (I know it seems kind of obvious, but it really is).

I’m doing a full-time internship (~40 hours/week) during the summer now. I’m going to keep it even while I’m in my second year for UCR. That time will be cut down significantly, probably less than half. I didn’t try it out my first year either because I wanted to see if I could handle school too. But then again, I haven’t gotten into my intense upper division/reading/writing classes yet…
