Johns Hopkins Class of 2025 Waitlist Discussion

Hopefully!!! :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Not to be negative or anything, but this email sounds like something that should come AFTER you accept an offer. I think it’s supposed to go to a student setting up a club, which makes no sense to send you unless you’re attending for sure.

Yeah exactly. That’s why I’m so confused, don’t worry you are not being negative.

I honestly don’t remember at this point which is why I’m asking, we’re you the one who got that phone call from JHU about some survey a couple months ago?

that is confusing but wouldn’t they just send it to the student’s jhu email?? why your personal email

was also going to say this – i got this email on my jhu email b/c im on the mailing list used for this, so like ???

No that’s someone else

I thought I was on a list or something but this is the only jhu email I’ve gotten since the one about the extended waitlist…

that’s so weird, it logistically should’ve only gone to people in the HopkinsGroup group

just curious – if you scroll down to the very bottom of the email, does it say

Leadership, Engagement & Experiential Development

Yes it does

What difference does it make?

i was just checking to see if it was an email from the campusgroups mailing list or if it was one sent out randomly, and that confirms that it is from the mailing list and they seemingly somehow ended up on the mailing list, idk if it means anything admissions wise but i was curious from an IT perspective

did you automatically get this email as an admitted student or is it something where you had to intentionally sign up to be on the mailing list?

Wondering about this as well, seems like the email is specifically for those who run a club

Since the email says “Re-Registration process” it almost seems like it was intended for current students at JHU who have already been in student organizations in previous years

i haven’t asked if any of my friends got it, but i am a student org leader

i don’t know if this is of any interest to you, but here’s a rundown on how that mailing list works if it helps:

hopkins has its own site on Campusgroups called Hopkinsgroups, which is where all of our student org stuff is organized (event rsvps and whatnot can be found on it). every current student has to sign up for it and you’ll be immediately placed in the Class of [insert your year] organization. you can also add yourself to other organizations and clubs you’re interested in, and the admins of these groups have access to a group-specific mailing list that allows you to send newsletters and such to the members.

i would think that this email was sent to everyone listed as a leader for any group within the HopkinsGroups site, but i honestly have no clue. it might be an issue with the mailing list itself (the structure of the HopkinsGroups mailing lists still kinda sucks) but i can’t say anything for certain

sorry for all the posts i’m a sucker for a good tech anomaly :weary:

Could someone quickly clarify what is going on with the portal being inactive? Has it always been like this or did it just change today?
