Johns Hopkins Class of 2025 Waitlist Discussion

I feel that way too I’m sure they have stuff going on but I feel like at this point it’s kind of just inconsiderate to do this but I guess we just have to keep waiting

on the brighter end of things, and lemme not try to jinx LOL, they haven’t sent out a mass email saying they’re full, like other colleges have. waiting for a long time on the possibility of them accepting is better than them saying straight up that they’re full yk

You are welcome!

I’m assuming we’ll probably hear from them during the summer, since there are a bunch of factors that need to be considered (i.e. international students, financial aid packages, people who will actually register, etc.) before they turn to the waitlist. Additionally, more students have been leaving deposits at multiple schools in the past year, meaning that Hopkins does not have a clear idea of who will actually attend. The usual predictors of yield/enrollment are proving to be futile for this application season. So, in light of this uncertainty, Hopkins will be extra careful with their waitlist (to manage their yield) and since approx. 1500+ students accepted their waitlist offer, we’re in for quite a long wait imo.

Honestly I have to submit my housing deposit for my second choice soon and the cancellation fee is pretty expensive. If I don’t hear back by the 28th, I am just going with my second choice. I think it’s just pretty unrealistic of them to expect us to wait after May. Am I the only one who is losing interest?

But the thing is, all these factors point to them having to pull off the waitlist and the longer they wait, the more people who lose interest…so why aren’t they taking ANYONE yet? If we don’t hear by this week I’ll email my regional officer.

No I am losing interest too at first I was so excited and I was like waiting to hear something but I am graduating so soon like I want to set clear plans for the future and honestly I considered pulling out of the waitlist I think it would be easier for me to get excited for one school and probably better for my mental health as well. I’m definitely considering it they are kind of losing my respect at this point…

I’d like to go to JHU because they would give me better financial aid than my other schools but is it worth the wait?

i know how hard this is, but it is typical at many, many schools for waitlist decisions to go into June and even July. It’s not just JHU. Hang in there!
