Johns Hopkins Class of 2025 Waitlist Discussion

Columbia waitlist decisions just came out so there’s definitely hope in the air.

If they are waiting this long maybe they don’t need that many people from the waitlist…

Maybe me being hopeful, but with the waitlist movements at higher up schools I think they’ll need to pull from it for sure…

honestly who knows what they’re thinking at this point if they had wanted to take people off they would have started to do it by now but if they didn’t need any more people they would have also said something and closed the waitlist? i have no idea what it means

If it helps, at all, this is kinda like y’all’s first insight into how Hopkins admin is like; they take forever to tell us important things

RIPPPPPPP. I’m assuming you go to Hopkins?

Yeah lmao, I love it here but admin is notorious for pulling this kind of thing

Gotta love the mystery

it’s so weird because we aren’t allowed to be hopeful because we don’t know if they’re going to the waitlist but we also aren’t allowed to have closure because they haven’t closed the waitlist :frowning:

I’m a transfer waitlist. Surprised to see you freshmans haven’t been accepted yet??? I committed to NYU but still want to know my Hopkins result. Hopefully they can get thru it before my housing reservation fee pasts its ddl🥲

My housing reservation fees already passed :pensive:

I emailed them bc we haven’t heard anything so let’s see what they say

They’re probably waiting for the other T10’s to close their waitlists. They have to fully grasp their enrollment numbers before they make a move (if any). So, we shall wait.

I haven’t received a response yet to my email but which top tens haven’t closed their waitlist?

I think I am not interested in JHU anymore… my second choice is really good and I already found a roommate and tbh I think I might do better there too…

Is someone able to call or email the admissions office on if there is a determined timeline on releasing waitlist decisions?

Just did. I’m a transfer and here’s what my regional officer said:

Thank you for your email! We do not have a specific timeline at this time, we are still awaiting to close the freshman class waitlist before going to the transfer one. It will be sometime this summer, hopefully in early July at the latest but we will be sure to notify everyone when the deadline is made!

Freshmen waitlist are definitely closing before us so ig late June

Does this mean that they won’t pull from it? “Waiting to close” does not sound good…

Honestly don’t know but I suspected it too
