Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (called Chem B on campus) is part of the Engineering School, just like BME. It does not require pre-admission. Many of my child’s group project partners in upper level classes are from Chem B. It is broader than just biology but has a lot of overlap in the biology part of it.
Thank you! Very important and useful!
Did you guys get the email from Hopkins today. It’s that decision is coming out tomorrow
Yes…To set an example they actually call out the date and time of decision availability…No need for portal astrology at Hopkins
Yes but no other school does that!
Aren’t you nervous dad!
Yes I am, but this will be a semi permanent state for me for a while as my one and only child is about to fly out of the nest…I’m sure a lot of you can relate .
Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed you or your student will be a future
I believe it is Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering…BME is “Biomedical”. My D23 is highly interested in JHU for Chem Engineering so we have been reading up on lots before our tour next week.
What time decision is coming out?
Noon (PST)
You mean 23 minutes??
Son GOT IN - International Relations
How’s it looking…?
decision came out?
My son got in, but not BME major. So we have to make a decision whether we accept or not
Same for us
They don’t seem to specify major anywhere? But my son only applied for IR and never picked any second choice - so I presume he got that…
S22 is waitlisted
Well since he applied for BME, we have a form where we can choose another major and withdraw from the ED and jhu admissions altogether. We have 2 weeks.
According to my daughter, unless your are accepted to programs like BME, Peobody, etc you don’t apply for your major until Sophomore year.
Congrats to all who have been accepted, Welcome to the Nest! Let me know if you have any questions that I “may” be able to answer. My daughter is currently a 1st year BME student.
