Johns Hopkins Early Decision for Fall 2022 Admission

Are there numbers from the past on this forum on waitlist and how it moves for JHU?

OMG, I got accepted. This feels unreal after all the deferrals from Duke (ED), UChicago (EA) and MIT (EA), even the UVA (EA) in-state.

and same for my daughter , no BME but inā€¦So now this starts the interesting part. BME would have been an easy call. But now will she be willing to forgo a bunch of other options and focus here ? Or will she insist on rolling the dice with some good safeties in handā€¦Let the growing up part begin

Same situationā€¦ and they have all of two weeks to grow up!

My son is waitlisted. From prior year threads, you can see numbers vary from 0 ā€“ 100+. It seems JHU gives out a lot of waitlists at least in the past while final admits are very low. There are opt outs from waitlists, but still a lot waiting for a handful of spots.

Any one else on waitlist?

S22 is on the waitlist as well. There is a thread here on CC about how long the waitlist was kept open last year which frankly is disheartening. We are now treating this like a reject while still planning on sending new information when he gets them but really i just want my son to look forward and be excited about other colleges

As your child considers JHU without BME, in addition to Chem B and Biology, Iā€™d suggest he or she look at Biophysics, the Computational Medicine minor and the Computer Integrated Surgery minor. There are so many options at JHU besides BME.

Our D22 got in, sheā€™s a recruited athlete. Although she does not get into BME.

Anybody know how many ED-2 applicants they received
this year ?

They accepted 301 from ED2 apps.

Question to all that were admitted in ED2 but not in BME - any thoughts? Leaning towards taking it or not? We are vising campus tomorrow and are leaning towards taking it.

Same here will be on the campusā€¦Daughter is on edge and is having a hard time giving up other potentials, but hoping the visit will put her over the topā€¦What time slot for the tourā€¦? Weā€™re part of the 3pmā€¦may be two similar minded students can chat

Waitlist here too. My daughter is going on the waitlist, but weā€™re moving on as if it were a rejection. I think weā€™re going to give it until June 15th, and if there hasnā€™t been any movement by then, weā€™re coming off.

S22 committed to Hopkins (ChemBE), after the visit last week!

Thank you! Would be great to find out if they give credits to any of AP Spanish/Gov/Lang/Lit. We donā€™t see these courses listed on the website in the list of AP-credits, but have heard that AP Spanish may be able to fulfill a humanities elective. Itā€™s great that most of the STEM APs are given credit for!
