I am not 100% sure if I will apply ED, but this has been my dream school for the longest time. My family is also prepared to pay the tuition if I get accepted.

Seem meh. Compared to the kids from my school who consistently get in, seem a bit weak. But don’t lose hope!
JUST KNOW THAT BIO FOR JHU IS INSANELY COMPETITIVE. YOU HAVE TO SHOW EXTREME TALENT IN ORDER TO HAVE A SHOT. AND I MEAN IBO (INT’L BIO OLY) GOLD MEDALIST GOOD.
Other than that, work on essays. Seems like you did as much as your school offered. If anything, take a few more AP tests. Who says you can’t self-study?
Yeah, I understand that Johns Hopkins is extremely hard to get into, especially for biology. I’m visiting September 30, and from what I’ve heard, the campus isn’t the greatest, and the city is extremely dangerous. It has always been my dream school, but I might change my ED if I don’t like it much.
Also, I’m not sure if it’ll help, but I recently got back some scores. I got a 33 on the ACT (35 English, 31 Math, 35 Reading, 30 Science), and I also got a 740 on SAT Subject Test Biology M.
I also got a 680 on Math II, but I’m definitely retaking it in October.
Don’t listen to Harvardgrad. Idk where their info is coming from, but it’s fundamentally incorrect.
Bio at Hopkins is by no means “insanely competitive” or at least no more competitive than the rest of the school. The Krieger school doesn’t even accept students by major - all students accepted into KSAS are accepted as pre majors and declare at the end of their freshman year. Your chances of admissions as a Bio major are no different than they would be as any other major with the exception of BME. I know several Bio majors at Hopkins at all years - I have yet to meet someone “International Bio Olympiad Gold Medalist” good (someone in the bio department probably is, but the majority of Bio majors here had high school stats pretty close to yours).
1500 SAT and 33 ACT are pretty equivalent. If I remember correctly, that’s on the lower end of the IQR for Hopkins admissions but it’s still competitive. SAT Math is low - aim for 750+, but that probably won’t keep you out.
All in all you are competitive and don’t let anyone tell you different. Your essays are really what will make the difference at this point.
