@jquery yeahhhh seems like everywhere is like that, but cmon people this is JOHNS HOPKINS. Stay confident (:
@plsplspls The one where you invites your professor or instructor to evaluate your academic performance on the Common App.
Maybe I should feel better:)
@xonnaux I did
@xonnaux lol I thought that was the recommendation?
@plsplspls No, that wasn’t. You still need to send a separate letter of recommendation from your professor or instructor.
Lol welp I’m fudged
We’re fudged together then
@xonnaux I still don’t get it, if you waived your FERPA waiver, how could you ever see your recommendation? I read that it has an upload on the common app, so couldn’t my professors after doing my evaluation just write my recommendation?
I think academic evaluation and letter of recomm are the same thing cuz profs need to upload a letter in common app
They are the same thing.
@badooki I agree with you but why are people saying you have to send stuff separately then?
I also applied to Hopkins as a Bio Major. I have a 3.5 GPA at my current college. Hoping for the best. Good luck to all of you.
I applied for physics, with math as a second choice. GPA of 3.7 at an unknown regional school. Tried my best with recommendations, difficult course selection, leadership in ECs, etc.
Not really worried if I’m rejected because I really like my backup. Finaid is significant for me so I would probably only consider JHU if it offered the same finaid or was cheaper.
The Baltimore thing is a bit disturbing, but it’s true that a lot of great schools are in or near dangerous areas. My professors did ask me “Are you really sure you’d want to go to Baltimore?” though.
Honestly, I wouldn’t sweat it about the Baltimore situation. I would love to attend JHU because of the opportunities they present, I don’t care where the location is. I also really enjoy more urban/city areas. Additionally, I live in St. Louis and went through all the Ferguson chaos and I’m fine.
So what are your intended majors? Mine are writing seminars and international studies. Good luck to everyone!
Psychology
Computer Science
Decisions are 14 days away !! I am so excited for all of us !! It would be sooo epic if we all got in together. But my intended major is Neuroscience.
