Johns Hopkins hopeful

I am currently a senior trying to go to John Hopkins. I have a 3.7 gpa (average) and a 2200 sat, 760 in U.S History, 770 in biology, and a 800 in chemistry. I am in the top 10 percent of the class. I did a summer internship for the Hopkins hospital. I am the president at my school for medicine club, anatomy lovers, and the historian club. I have also volunteered for the red cross for about 100 hours. However I did not do any sports. What are my chances? Please be brutal. Thank you.

I also took 8 AP’s throughout high school, but got a D overall in Calc AB.

For starters you should know that it is Johns Hopkins, not John Hopkins.

I’m guessing you’re going into the medical field from your interests. And honestly there’s really NO telling if you’re getting into a school or not tbh. Especially with how this school is such a reach for anybody. However looking at the stats you put up, you seem to be a good candidate, but that D could really screw you over since you’re going into STEM. Also I would think you have pretty strong extra curriculars, but some would say you’re not very well-rounded due to your lack of other interests besides the medical field.

But in all honesty, I think you’re doing great and I hope the best for you!!!

I’m sorry to say this, but you had me up until you mentioned the D in Calc AB. Schools don’t like D’s - getting a D second semester senior year can get your admission rescinded - and having a D on your transcript could seriously lower your chances of admission.

Everything else looks good though. Good luck!
