One more thing though, I came here during sophomore year from Switzerland, hadn't lived in an English-speaking nation previously. Helps?

Johns Hopkins will be a very high reach for you, given your SAT scores and ECs.

thanks silver for answering. how high do you think the SATs have to get assuming that ECs are not going to develop much?

^ I would say that a 2200 or above would help make up for so-so ECs. Are you sure that NHS is the only thing you are involved in? If so, do some community service over the summer, or go to a neat summer program, etc. Remember that past summer programs kind of count as ECs. And maybe next year you could join a club or two (obviously it won’t be a leadership role, but at least it will fill some space on the app)

maybe exaggerated by saying completely no ECs. well, 50-75h community service and research work during the summer at johns hopkins is there too. helps?

Even if you get a 2400, you will need to develop the ECs in order to have a good chance. Simply being in NHS will make admission to a top 20 school almost impossible without a hook.

thanks for replies all.

how does the fact that i’ve been here only for around 2 years help?

by the way, how could i edit my oiriginal post :D?

“Class rank: Around 2-4” out of what?

around 400, and a decent high school i guess
