Johns Hopkins vs. U Miami Honors Full Ride

Hello everyone,

I have been admitted to a few schools, but my best results were from Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Miami (I was accepted into the Foote Fellows program which is basically their honors program, and I received the Singers Scholarship which covers full tuition). I know that I would go to Hopkins and U Miami over Northwestern (not because I don’t like the school, I wouldn’t have applied otherwise lol, but it just doesn’t give me the feeling that the other schools do), but I’m not sure if I want to go to UM or JHU. I’m afraid that I wouldn’t have a high enough GPA to get into med-school if I went to JHU and that I would end in so much debt after going there, but I love JHU so much (obviously very different vibe from U Miami, where I’m not entirely sure I’d fit in), and the brand name probably does carry at JHU. At UM I would also be at the top of my class and get the top research opportunities. What if the med school admissions process suddenly changes and I would have benefitted more from being okay-ish at a school like Hopkins than having the best GPA at U Miami???

Save your debt for medical school. Go to U Miami and be the star student with all the best opportunities thrown at you. That will help you stand out later in med school applications, along with keeping you in a good financial position.

Go to Miami and don’t look back. I personally would go to Northwestern or JHU, however.

@Boothie007 If you recommend going to U Miami, then what are your personal reasons for going to NU or JHU then?
