Another day would have been so helpful! I didn’t really get the chance to explore the town or even the whole campus. but I still did love it. Before the visit I hadn’t really even considered the school. Now, though, I’ve realized how great it actually is and how much I do like it (regardless of how much I thought I wouldn’t). I’m crossing my fingers! I think we find out Monday or Tuesday, right?

From Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar tragedy:

Caesar: Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue shriller than all the music
Cry “Caesar!” Speak, Caesar is turn’d to hear.
Soothsayer: Beware the ides of March.
Caesar: What man is that?
Brutus: A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

Did anyone get a letter today?

They will probably arrive tomorrow.

W & L Twitter TL said they went out USPS today. Sadly it will be Monday,Tuesday or Wednesday before our son gets his letter. Good luck to all!

I am a Johnson Scholar!!! I received my acceptance letter from Washington and Lee and my scholarship award notification, valued at $55,882 per year!!! Everyone at the competition was so accomplished. I am truly honored to have been chosen to receive this scholarship.

Congratulations, LeiaOrgana! Hoping the other CC’ers post soon with good news.

Congratulations LeiaOrgana! Sadly our son was not selected. We are now looking for other alternatives for scholarship funds. But you should be very proud of your accomplishment!

sstterry, it may be small consolation, but my D served as a student interviewer and said the kids she met were so accomplished that she was certain she would not have been selected from this year’s applicant pool. Competition is getting much stiffer as the Johnson Scholarship program is becoming better known. Hope all works out for the best for your son.

Contrary to Admissions’ Twitter post that the results would not available via portal, try logging in to the financial aid site.

Congratulations LeiaOrgana.

My daugther received a Johnson last year but deferred to spend a year overseas. You will be class mates. T

What a great opportunity. Enjoy!

Ahh! Just received mine today too! I am so unbelievably excited right now! I’m definitely going to be seeing more of Virginia in the fall!

Congrats LeiaOrgana and Eva1995!
I didn’t receive a letter today, so hopefully tomorrow I hope we’ll be classmates!

Thank you for the support Yaupon. And congratulations to all of the Johnson winners

What shows on the fin aid site?

LeiaOrgana-my Star Wars nerd son (a class of '16 Johnson Scholar) will be glad to hear someone with an imaginative handle such as yours is coming to Lex!

I didn’t get the Johnson :’(
Still waiting on a few more schools, but it looks like I won’t be going to a school I really like (for now- I’ll learn to love wherever I attend, I suppose).
Congrats again to all the winners.

Sorry Luna, but best of luck to wherever you go!
