BUT i was wondering what my chances of getting a scholarship are? do most come from gemstone/honors? because i was offered scholars despite the fact that i said yes to both working in groups and research, and my grades are above even the gemstone range. do you think i still have a chance at a scholarship?

(and im not saying anything bad about cp scholars! both are great programs! lol)

oops i spelled just wrong in the post title haha

Wow! I would call them and tell them to put you into Honors/Gemstone...your stats are so much better than some of the people that have gotten in.

I'm not trying to say anything about scholars eithers...but this seems really strange.

I too would have thought you would be honors. I would think you'll def getting merit, but the amt I don't know. OOS or IS?

The selection is tightening up because ea yr UMD has more applicants.

File your FAFSA asap...stay on course as a freshman and more scholarships/grants open up to you, especially dean's list.

lol i thought it was strange too, and im going to call tomorrow
(but at the same time i don't want to come off like a pain in the butt, you know? haha)

out of state
and FAFSA's already filed

when did they ask you abt research or groups, i keep hearing people say this, maybe I forgot, i finished applying so long ago. were these questions on the online app?

yeah they were in the "niche" section of part 2
