i am currently attending the university of cincinnati and majoring in electronic media. i'm not a big fan of cincinnati - i don't like quarters, the campus, the construction, etc, etc.

i've recently been looking to transfer but am having a hard time finding information on journalism schools in ohio. i know that ou probably the best journalism school - but they are on quarters as well and the campus is in the middle of absolutely no where.

i've started to look into the university of toledo...does anyone have any information on their communications program? i feel their campus might be more of what i'm looking for (suburban instead of cincinnati's urban and ou's rural) but haven't been able to find much about their comm or journalism program.

if anyone out there has any information or any sites i could visit // books i could look at i'd very much appreciate it. thanks in advance!

I am not familiar with the communications program at the U of Toledo, but I do know that Ohio Wesleyan has a decent program. If you're willing to go out of state, you might also check out Indiana U.

From students I've known, including one daughter currently at OU, students in the middle of nowhere Athens seem to like their school more than those at TU. One side of TU's campus is suburban, the other side borders inner city.

I believe Kent State also has a journalism program. Their location is a college town attached to suburban sprawl.

You may also want to check out Ball State. I believe that residents of some Ohio counties receive the in-state tuition rate if the attend Ball State. Journalism and their School of Communications are two of Ball State's stronger programs. Worth checking out, particularly if you can get in-state tuition.

I second Bowling Green and UD - it's on the outskirts of Dayton (I literally live down the street, haha), but Dayton isn't that big - and they've done some nice things with the area near the college entrance.
