JP Morgan Chase Info Session

I'm a Freshman at a school with a top business school, but will apply at the end of the year to the business school. There is a JP Morgan Chase Info session about summer opportunities at JP Morgan coming up at my school. I've never been to anything like this before so I was wondering if it's worth it to go, given my freshman status and not yet being in the business school. I'm also curious as to what to expect at the info session.

Thanks

I would go if you’re not super busy. It’s only an hour or two, and it will let you know a little more about the firm and the field. Most likely, there will be some sort of presentation on the firm (a very generic presentation without a lot of actual information) at the beginning/middle of the session, and then you’ll spend the rest of your time talking to JPM professionals. I would have a few questions prepared, but mainly, I’d just listen to their answers to other people’s questions. As a freshman, it’s a pretty low-risk/low-reward situation. You’re unlikely to work for them this year, and they also know that so they won’t really pay much attention to you, but you can take the opportunity to learn about how to handle info sessions.

You should probably go just to see what it’s like, but it will be kind of like high school freshmen visiting Yale…Also many colleges limit these sessions to Juniors.
