I have posted before but want to get your opinion with her new ACT scores. She had a 28 composite in Feb. but did much better in April: English 32 Math 33 Reading 32 Science 32 with a composite of 32. She has a 4.0 (unweighted) in high school and will complete 6 AP classes by the end of her senior year. She is ranked 1st out of 360 students and has what I would consider pretty good EC's. Competitive baton twirler since she was 8 with 15 national and world class titles, Gov. Honor's Program this summer, Feature Twirler 4 years, and a member of all of the honor societies and other normal school clubs.
It gives ranges on the school site, but I was wondering if anyone wanted to share stats of real students that have been accepted into the honors program. I know her scores are not good enough for the fellow foundation, or the Ramsey awards, but are there other merit based scholarships that we could apply for?

Congrats to your daughter for raising her scores. She probably has a 99.999999% chance of getting into honors. I’d list my stats, but I didn’t get in before coming to UGA (I decided to go to UGA after the program deadline).

I will be a freshman in the honors program in a few months. Your daughter and I have very similar stats. I have 4.0 GPA, 31 ACT, 7 AP classes, and was a governors honors finalist. Also, I had very good teacher recs. I would say she has a really good chance. As for scholarships, after early admission I was awarded the charter scholarship which is $1000 and there is not an application. They just base it off your stats if you apply by a certain time. Good luck, I hope she gets in!!

i will also be in the honors program this fall as a freshman and i have similar stats as britt…3.9 GPA 31 ACT 8 AP’s.
also, a friend of mine told me that at least a 31 on the ACT was a shoe-in to get in honors…
hope this eases your mind!

Thanks for sharing your stats and success with me. I think I can relax a little now that she should get in to Georgia with these scores. If she makes it into the Honor’s Program that will be great, if not I will be ok with that also. I hope that you have a great year at UGA. Please stop by and let us know how it is going as the year progresses.
