will JROTC make you or break you in the admission process?? Do you know JROTC's effect on college admission?? Do you have some examples of students being accepted or rejected because of heavy impact of extracurriculars in a JROTC program? thank you for letting me know... i'm just curious!

Make or break you? Do you mean JROTC crowding out other EC pursuits? In and of itself, JROTC can be fine outlet for leadership dvlpment and other great EC commitment. If you mean overcommitting to JROTC vs. other things -- how would that be different from a Varsity athlete?

FYI: JROTC was my main EC and it didn't hurt me: I was accepted at all colleges applied, eventually matriculating at an HYP.

^thank you! you give me hope!! where do you go?

I am the Battalion Commander of my JROTC unit and I've gotten into Duke and Dartmouth(likelies) so far and am waiting for HYP. If you get a position and get good recommendations I think JROTC can be a valuable asset. My SAI (a Lieutenant Colonel) wrote supplementary recommendations for me and Dartmouth said that it demonstrated my leadership abilities.
