JROTC's impact on college admission? (big? small?)

I've heard a LOT of times that JROTC doesn't have that much impact on college admissions. Is it true?...

I'm asking this because as a rising senior, I'm considering dropping JROTC to make space in my schedule to TA for a teacher of mine, whom I've known well since freshman year.

I have been in JROTC for the past 3 years, holding pretty high (but not top) positions and receiving nationally-recognized awards (i.e. American Legion). My school offers a 4th year of JROTC but I'm not sure if I should take it on; I've had major personal issues with the head instructor of the program. In fact, the only reason stopping me from dropping right now is JROTC's effect on college admissions (which is really saying something, because I'm not really a college admissions-obsessed person).

The teacher taught me Algebra 2 (I did well in the class), and was an adviser for a committee that I was actively involved in. She's promised to write me a letter of rec. (and she's known for writing VERY good ones). And she pays her TAs =) haha

I think being a Teacher's Aide is a pretty good investment of my time, but I don't want to hurt my chances of being accepted to one of my top choice colleges, Williams. And it really doesn't hurt that the teacher's daughter attends Williams!

What do you guys think? Will dropping JROTC hurt my admissions as opposed to taking on the Teacher's Aide job?...

Thanks!
