June 14 2014 ACT Discussion

Vaish, a familiar face ;)

I put maya people to clarify as well. Had to guess on like 14 math problems :(

why wouldn’t it have been (10,8)? wasn’t (8,6) the midpoint?
E = (4,2) and F = (12,10)

For the passage about Ray Bradbury, what was the answer to the question asking whether he struggled to find the meaning of words to him or he often discarded words that were not conductive to meaningful writing?

And in the Bombay passage was the city a metaphor or was it personification?

@Ntrer1cal‌
he discarded words that werent conductive to meaningful writing
personification

personification because s/he told of her/his parents loving eachother, him/her, and the city which is commonly attributed to other humans

but thats just my reasoning

Heyyy ACT buddy, @nickster322 ! Did better this time?

@Ntrer1cal‌ , struggled to find meaning and personification

Bombay was personification, it personified the city.

There was a question in the passage about the arts city and one of the choices was to add a semicolon…anyome remember what I’m talking about?

@Vaish‌ , expecting my 4th 33 sadly :confused: was way worse than I expected.

I thought the Test 5 thing was kinda weird. Is that new?

@NYCKevin‌ was that the one that was like a full sentence then a comma then for and then another sentence? I wasn’t sure between the comma or semicolon since i wasnt sure “for” was an appropriate conjunction

Jealousy or respect for the bombay passage , about how he felt about his parents

http://us19.chatzy.com/85492661326075

jealous

lol hardest ACT ive taken hoping for 25

yeah Awflapjackz I noticed that too, it seems they might be adding a new section with no calculators being allowed from what I saw

it was 16 math questions

Mine was not a math test. My projector only said that it wouldn’t be counted in the score, and it would be used for research purposes.

ah thats even weirder, maybe a future experimental section?
if so I doubt it’ll be accurate since no one will answer the questions to there full potential since it wont count

Mine was 28 English questions which were far easier than the actual test today lol

i had trouble on math with the question about percentages with a solute and the trapezoid, I thought reading was pretty good tho
