I was somewhat confused about the KCl solution question; I believe I put that it is saturated and that only choice 1 applies.

but if S02 accepts protons, doesnt it mean that its a base

Nonmetallic Oxides are acid anhydrides

Basically they give you three options

I. The solution is saturated
II. Stirring makes the solid go back to the solution
III. Cooling makes the solid go back to the solution

Which one did you put?

I think this is referring to saturated solution.

ok guys i started an AIM chat room POST UR SN's and ill invite u!

Well, the solution was super-saturated, but adding the KCl precipates out all the excess KCl, rendering it a saturated solution. So no matter how much you stir, no more is going to go into solution. However, it might be that KCl is one of those odd solids for which cooling makes it more soluble, although I hope that it's not so.

put the number up for people to add themselves. i'm thisdude415 though.

There was a really tricky question, for me.

It asked which of the following contained 1 mole.

It was either 32 g of O2 or 22.4 L of Argon gas at STP.

I picked the argon gas since it was at STP while the O2 wasnt. Any1?

itscalled "CHEMISTRYSAT"--> no numbers, nothing else, just what's in quotes

i picked ar.

I put argon, too, but I don't remember the question exactly. It's possible that it asked which contained 1 mole of molecules rather than individual atoms...ugh.

i dont have aim. mind posting important stuff here?

idk so far just 2 ppl in chatroom, lol

i think i put one mole of helium since that was the only monoatomic element and it asked for atoms, not molecules. there was argon?

Nay it's neither ar nor oxygen

It's helium

The question asks for the number of "Atoms."

That's a tricky question. If you quickly glimpse at it you'd easily have put argon or oxygen. Helium is right between the two choices.

i remember putting helium, don't remember question or why

But O2 and Ar were the only ones with the correct quantity. O2 and AR were the only ones with 1 mole. O2 was 32 g and Ar was 22.4 L the other ones were incorrect. Maybe im mixing up the Ar with He?

i think the answer was He 22.4 L and at STP because thats 1 mole right there.

funny, i dont remember argon. i remember diatomic molecules and helium. but then again, my memory does funny things

idk about argon but it was 32 g of O2, which =1 mole of O2 which =2 mole of O2 atoms, so thats not right. its helium
