mnkydance321: Thats what I thought the box plot was about.

cmh_580: I believe it was y=15?? Not 100% sure though…

i put 21/28 = 75% for the box and whisker plot… the last one I did was in 8th grade.

Damn it. I guess I just saw x=15 so I put the answer as 13. CRAP!!

who did the last q? (sorry for repetiting this q)

kafka - you had to use combinations for both seniors and juniors then multiply the result

cmh_580: What was the question for the y=15 one? I remember y=15 but nothing else :/

yeah, there was the amount of possible seniors and juniors, then how many the committee needed each.

it was asking the distance between the curve of an ellipse, I think, and the line. 12

tough…so is there a definite answer for the x+y question? i put -12…

^ what was the right answer to the senior/junior question?

For the question you guys say is -12, shouldn’t it be +12,
because x^2-y^2=72
then (x-y)(x+y)=72
they give you (x-y) = 6, solve for (x+y)
so 6(x+y)=72
x+y=12, not -12
im not sure if i have the right numbers or signs, but does that sound right?

like 800ish^^^
“they give you (x-y) = 6”
no it was y-x =6

I think I remember getting -12.

The axis one was when it gave you an ellipse and asked how close it came to the line y=15.

Wrong, they gave you (y-x)=6

Sorry guys, i just really wanna know what u guys got for q 50
i got -2-2i

Anyone remember the US population answer?

Did it end up with 321 million or something like that?

I believe I got what you got, rickymatsui.

I can look it up on my graphing calculator if you want, maybe it’s still saved. :P

cmh_580: Well great, I honestly don’t even remember that question. I am going to be SO angry if I get below a 750… :(

Yep, it was a geometric sequence question. Or you coulda just continously multiplied the answers by 1.0092 if you forgot the formula.

i omitted the us population one… i didnt get an aswer for sum reason… :frowning: :frowning:
yea canu check KlaftenZhaange LOl

y^2 / 9
–> the length of the vertical (the major also) axis of the ellipse should be 3
line y=15
------------> 15-3=12

however, i keyed in me GC wrongly, i got 13 instead :frowning:
5 blanks, 1 wrong
