June 2010: Biology

I can confirm both the limewater answers and the “spindles pull centromeres from both sides”… as far as the plasmid centromere, that seemed like the only viable answer.

what about the one about why the pine is lower in elevation?

@fresh, shouldnt it be like a lil more than 12 wrong to get 700+, cuz when i calculated it, it gives me 62?..when you said, that 60= 700.

the pines are not lower in elevation; the picture showed pines all the way at the top of the mountain along with shrubs.

Yo my man fresh, is is it better to cancel score or get like a 680 and take again and get 750?

Cancel that. It looks better to have a 750.
I would not want something like this:
Bio-M: 680
Bio-M: 750
This looks better to me:
Bio-M: 750.
It would look like you did great on your first try!

i thought that the spindle fibers one was that cytokinesis does not occur until the spindles are attached to the centromeres and split the chromosomes because of the checkpoints in mitosis…?

^what was that the answer for? was that in teh 60? or the Bio E?

no… the question stated that when one fiber was cut the centromere started moving (being pulled) in one direction, and when the fiber reformed, the centromere moved back (being pulled in the other direction) to the metaphase plate. What you said is true but its not the answer being shown.

what was the answer on bio-E to the qusetion about which system the venom would immediately affect … nervous system?

I said 60-62 was 700 to account for margin of error. Yes, if the curve is lenient you can have a little more than 12. 12 is the LEAST you need to get 700+, assuming the curve is not lenient. 12 is on the safe side.

guys, does anyone remember the answer choice for the plant diagram? the first one? the one with teh xylem? was it like A?

the pines are not lower in elevation; the picture showed pines all the way at the top of the mountain along with shrubs.

The problem stated that the pines were lower in elevation.

The first set of taxonomy killed me. Everything else was pretty good.

^^ so what was the answer…

I think that was for the other mountain… but the first mountain shows that elevation doesn’t inhibit or induce growth of pines.

does anyone think that the curve will be lenient? im freaking out here! :(

what was the answer on bio-E to the qusetion about which system the venom would immediately affect… nervous system?

^ yah, i didnt take E, but dats wut all of ppl said on this thread so yah.

ok thanks. and i assume the curve will be lenient becuz ive taken many practice tests and this is by far the hardest

^are we talking about the same question? I put that the red soil is lower than the gray soil.

Is that what you’re talking about?
I didn’t take Bio-E, if that’s where the question is from?
