June 2010 Critical Reading

Can anyone estimate -4, 0 omits?

What’s this about digust and optimism? Can we have the full question?

So do you think a -3 (accounting for an extra error somewhere) will get above a 740 this time? I honestly can’t believe that was what I got on March, so was that an easy exam and this possibly a hard one?

Also its an argument that 2 doesn’t find persuasive. What were the other answers to the resigned one?

^ For that question, I put that Passage 1 had facts that supported a claim made in Passage 2 (which it did, because Passage 2 made the claim about the “perennial concern” over money… Passage 1 had the details of that concern). None of the others seemed to work anyway :p

for independent films, wasn’t it asking about the tone of passage 2, so optimistic?

^Yes. 10char

The answer for that question is optimistic. Yay I’m looking at 760-790 now depending on the appalled question.

4 wrong, 0 omits = 760 (my best guess)

You might luck out and it could be 770.

now time for the math! i really hope i didn’t fill in the wrong bubbles lol

i thought the passaged based reading was much easier than the Barrons and BB but the vocab was indeed exceptionally hard, anyone find the writing to be easy as well?

Reading Promotes Learning
Make a claim

^ i don’t think this is right, i put something else

anyone remember the other answer choices for the making a claim question?

For that question, I put that Passage 1 had facts that supported a claim made in Passage 2 (which it did, because Passage 2 made the claim about the “perennial concern” over money… Passage 1 had the details of that concern). None of the others seemed to work anyway
^
What were the other answers?
I don’t remember this question. - . -

I think I put “support a something…” lol, icr.

it was supersede by monetary

for the literacy passage, weren’t we supposed to find what the author wants to say?

the author says that literacy has been the device/tool to determine intelligence or something… then he says the reaons for such progress are debatable (becuase people are more enthusiastic, which can make them progress)

Oh, I was referring to the question in the “Film” passage that went, “Which best describes the relationship between Passages 1 and 2?”.

film passage
ONE is more depressed than TWO
like someone sed, TWO is a bit more optimistic

Was there not a question asking like which of the following is true and the answer was that the children did not know how they were divided.

Yes. And that’s the right answer.

For the passage, a girl visiting relative, there was one question that gave us
the reference line and asked “what does the girl believe her father’s intention of sending her to the relatives?”

reference line was “I would have been more fond of them (relatives) if they lived in London”
