June 2010: Literature

No thread up, so guess I'll start. Thoughts? What was the most difficult passage?

The poem about the playwright was the most difficult, imo.

^ Agreed, what did you guys put for the question about the “two ages”…?

I’m worried now because I didn’t find the last passage very difficult…maybe I was reading the entire thing wrong and will lose abunch of points!

@ on the fridge
I second that! what where some of the answers? that one and the one about galetea had some hard questions!

@ char
i put the authors own age and that of Shakespeare

^ Damn, I was stuck between that one and the authors generation and the following one. Guess which one I chose…

Yeah, I thought the Galatea one was pretty hard.
I loved the first passage though! :)

I thought the Galatea/Pygmalion poem wasn’t too difficult, but we covered Pygmalion in English this year. I thought the train one was just…bizarre.

I also put Shakespeare’s period and his own.

This makes me feel better. Thanks.

^ The train one was kind of weird… do you guys remember the question on… the antecedent of “which” or something?

I think the antecedent was the “rising”

YESSS! I put that too :)

@sakuraino: I put at the beginning of the play?

For the poem about the playwright, what about the question asking what kind of circumstance would this poem be recited in?

Oh good, I was debating that one…

I put feeling as the antecedent. I wasn’t sure. I didn’t understand the use of “regular.”

I also put the beginning of the play option.

Hm I put another playwright. The end talks about how he should stop writing or something…

What was the answer to the question about what was the main verb/subject in the train passage?

I thought it was talking about how he was retiring and “yielding” to the younger playwrights, even though they weren’t as good as him. And it said something about how this was his last play… unless I completely interpreted it wrong.

I put it seems.

I think it was “it seemed”
