anyone else have trouble finishing barron’s tests?

I didn’t have trouble finishing them, I had trouble getting over 700 :P

What did you mean by the vertex of ellipses?

@jubilant: I can usually get 35-40 questions done on the Barron’s within the time limit :P

Say the ellipse equation is as follows:

(x-3)^2 (y+2)^2
-------- + --------
64 100

The center is at (3, -2). The foci c goes by the equation c^2 = a^2 - b^2. Therefore c = 6.

Edit: idk how to format the equation better You can probably look up the info on google and get a better explanation.

Okay so Im kinda freaking out right now. Ive done over 10 practice tests but ive only been able to finish on time for sparknotes and princeton. I have to skip like 10 problems to finish barrons on time. And I can’t get above 700 on barrons but I got 760 on princeton and 790 on sparknotes. What do you think I’ll get on the actual test? I really really want an 800 ):

Can someone PLEASE explain Linear Regression and Standard Deviation?

Also Ellipse, Hyperbola, and Parabola. And their foci, eccentricity, and directrix (for parabola).

can someone help me what do we need to know about matrices? i never learnt them school.

I need an opinion.
I took Math II in January. I did worse than I wanted (750), which I know is a fine score, but I’m planning on applying to Ivies and the like. I haven’t had time to study for the test, but I’m definitely taking Chemistry tomorrow and maybe French. Should I take Math II as well?

I know only I can really tell, but I’d like other people’s advice.

For ellipses, how do u tell which term is A and which is B?

^^Please tell me what you think. Is it just that the barrons test are really hard or am I just dumb? xP

does anyone know what the common CURVE is for these tests? Particularly, tomorrows?

Is it usually curved to raw score of 43? 44? 45? 46?

I don’t think you should take it if you haven’t prepared… just my opinion :/

@ Connie: You’re around the same place I am in terms of practice tests, and I have no idea… but the adrenaline will push us to that 800 I promise

@ Sarah: Nobody knows what the curve will be tomorrow, and it shouldn’t matter, what difference will it make if we knew what the curve was?

thanks(:
I really hope I get an 800 cause I didnt do so well on the Bio Sat II so I need this one. Hopefully, theres a low curve. But do a lot of people take in June? Cause the May curve for Bio was reallly high and I was thinking that it was cause a lot of people take it in May.

It was rather easy! Hope the curve is generous nonetheless.

Time to get some rest Good luck everyone!

I skipped one and was unsure about 1. Lets say I get an additional 3 wrong due to careless mistakes, and worse case scenario: I get 4 wrong 1 omit, would I most likely still end up with a 800?

Got back from testing a while ago. This test was probably the easiest collegeboard test I took in my life.

@iPacman: It’s very likely, unless the curve isn’t generous enough.

Didn’t have a graphing calculator
Was happy to see I wasn’t negatively affected by it at all…

do you think i should know linear regression and/or standard deviation? o_O
