800 on chem and math 2, smh nbd :P

800!!

Freakin 760 on mine. I’m in AP Chem. WTH?

760 this is so disappointing… I’d better make a 5 after this.

man… 760 D: I did IB chem too…

I love how all of the people who took IB Chem or AP Chem got a 760 and everyone else got higher or lower.

Wait a minute. Didn’t we fill something out saying that we were in AP Chem? Hmmmm…

I took AP chem this year and didn’t do well at all. Does anybody have any tips? I did practice tests and reviewed the questions the CB posted on their website, and reviewed my notes, but still got a 680.

I got an 800 and didn’t take AP chem. I know pretty much all of my chemistry (lol my high school’s chem class sucked) from watching Hank Green’s videos on youtube, just search for crash course chemistry. I like his videos because they mainly explain the concepts well without going into the math too much, which is the opposite of some ap chem classes where they do lots of practice with complex problems without going into the deeper understanding too much due to lack of time (at least that’s what my friends tell me). The subject tests, being multiple choice and time-pressured, generally test breadth over depth and try to test your understanding of the concepts instead of doing more complex problems with lots of math.

@Hawkace I took AP chem and I got 800.

Not quite sure why people think that it’s normal to get 800 if you’re taking the AP. How well did you do in the class, and how much of the material do you actually understand? Just being in AP Chemistry doesn’t mean anything.

Btw why does the title of this thread have (US) in it? Aren’t the subject tests for international and US the same?

I took it in Australia, and I had a look at that Google Doc with the answers, and I’m pretty sure our paper was exactly the same. I know the SAT I papers are different for internationals, but not sure about subject tests…

@MrWiggles I did really well. The AP exam is nothing like the SAT subject test though which is confusing.

@Hawkace I took AP Chem and got an 800, but my chem class was super super difficult so this test was really easy in comparison. I also read Princeton Review from cover to cover and did all the practice questions and practice tests.

800! Super surprising as I didn’t study other than taking the AP Chem class. Woo

800!!! Yay the curve is a little better than expected. My chem class was especially outstanding so I would’ve been sad without that score…lol but I’m a bit worried about the Ap.

@caffeinemolecule Did you use anything other than Barron’s? . I finished reviewing Barron’s and took 2 tests and got 780 and 800 respectively . I am pretty weak in areas like "this setup can be used to generate which of the following " I mean How can i perfect such areas ??

@ETonly I used Kaplan as well, but Barron’s helped the most. Just be careful and double check the explanations on the questions you got wrong since I’ve found quite a few mistakes in the book’s tests. If you can get an 800 on Barron’s, you can get an 800 on the real test trust me on this one. For your weakness, I would look over common chem labs either online, in the review book, or in a textbook- cb tends to use basic lab setups.

Done taking SAT Subject tests - chem - 800; math II - 800; Bio - 780
