June 2016 Living Environment Regents

what was the answer to the first part 2 multiple choice with the food chain. the first question asked which was an example of a food web or something and the next was which of the following would be most directly affected if the lizard population declined

For the Lynx, i wrote the niche to be the predator in the region, I wrote vague cause the question was vague! I feel like this regents was different then the other bio regents, but they gotta make the curve better to help us all. It was an easy test, its the little details that could change your grade

the global thread

lets just talk about global in here as well. didn’t we all take it?
?

The ants would be most affected, as they would have less/no predators. It started with sedges, that’s all I rememberf

it was ants for the second part, and the first part went something like this. Sedath (or some weird name like that lol) tthen ants then frogs then kukaberry i think, but i sedath and kukaberry were last and the frogs were eaten by kukaberry

thank you!

was it choice 3

the one that started with sedges was it choce 3?

i think

@“Albert G.” I didn’t take global I’m a freshman. But was the thematic the thing on Human Geography this year? heard some friends complaining about it lol

ik I got above a 94, most likely a 96 or 97 Plz NYS Gods be with me xD

For solar powered cars i said a disadvantage was that it was very expensive

same @nerd007 and for the advantage i put that it is using renwable resources

I felt the bio regents was pretty straightforward this year, aside from the Pennsylvania question and maybe one or two others. I chose States Cooperation for the the Pennsylvania one, my reasoning being that oil and coal are natural resources and they would only add to the problem. Also, if the regents wanted to ask about the negative effects of burning fossil fuels, why would they include the map? I reasoned that the answer must have something to do with the map, so I picked 4.

I’m a little worried about the dinosaur one because I didn’t put common ancestor. I didn’t think of it at the time, so I inferred that the dinosaur would have wings. Could that be accepted?

I got 38% for DNA one and 66.2 for the bpm average. Also said active transport for the contractile vacuole. For the lynx question (I’m just randomly saying the questions I see on this forum), I put that the coyote would not be able to stay on top of the snow like the lynx, so they wouldn’t compete. But with the packed trails, they would. I put predator as the niche, noting that they were all competing for the snowshoe hare.

Oh, and with the tick and cattle question, I put bio-magnification as the reason the oxpeckers died from eating ticks. Guessing a few different answers would be accepted here, mine is probably not a common one.

I know a lot of people who inferred that it could fly, so I’m guessing it can be accepted. I got 38 for the DNA and 66.2 for the bpm as well

I agree on the air pollution question, it was the states need to cooperate.

For the niche of the lynx I said it fills the niche for being a consumer that controls the population of the snowshoe hare, I hope that’s correct. I screwed up on the question with the paramecium because I thought it was passive transport, The water goes in to the paramecium via osmosis and then the water gets out through the vacuoles… Ugh

I felt it was very different from past years. There was only 1 bullet question, with 2 parts. Some of the questions were super vague, but mostly were fine. They didn’t need to make the curve worse than last year tho :frowning:
