May SAT II Biology E/M

Who took it already! Discuss with meeee I have 1 question I've confirmed wrong and 1 I am still debating about with others.

What is the curve until you lose the 800???

Hmm we can not talk about the questions till the embargo is lifted but the curve for Biology is usually very stringent.

I felt like I did really good on the test  I was sure on almost all the questions except one. However, I felt the same way about USH and realized that I got a lot of things wrong :/

Wow that test was hard. CAn we discuss the questions yet? My PR did not fully cover me; nor did Sparknotes or Kaplan.

Agreed with RAlec, it was hard and a lot of the information was not in PR. I might actually have to retake this. :/

We definitely can’t talk about questions yet because the subject tests are still going on.

PM me for answer verifications. I took E. I have 3 confirmed wrong, I think.

I took AP Bio this year and I thought the test was fair; it had some difficult questions that were not covered in the Princeton Review book (although I did learn that info in AP Bio)

I was aiming for an 800. 3 questions that I confirmed got wrong, which is -4 (790 based on curve in BB). The curve will probably differ. I hope its more lenient? -4 800 :D

When will the embargo be lifted?

I took M. The M section itself wasn’t that bad, but I found the first part to have a lot of tricky or hard questions. I omitted one, and confirmed probably 1 or 2 wrong so far; I really hope the curve is more lenient, but I have so little confidence that I know an 800 is not realistic whatsoever.

I thought that in general, the first part of the test (not E/M), was REALLY hard. I take AP bio, and questions on the 2 units we didn’t cover this year, the immune system and embryology/reproduction, were in abundance on this test. That being said, the curve is usually pretty generous so hopefully this one will be even more so.

Also, there was a question about periods. How the hell is that fair to guys!?

embargo???

just post your questions here

im taking the june 5th one and i need help

I was surprised by how easy the E section was. The common consensus seems to be that M is easier, but I’m not sure how anyone with a functioning brain and at least cursory knowledge about ecology terms could have screwed E up.

On the common part, I found it mostly easy, but there was one question that seemed extremely specific to me that I had to just leave blank.

The Bio curve isn’t very good. It’s better than curve for the sections of the SAT, but compared to other subject tests, like Math II where you can omit 7 out of 50 and get an 800, it’s not good. Basically, 1 wrong question/1 omitted = -10 points (Exception: 1 wrong/omitted TOTAL is still 800).

EMBARGO IS STILL ON. CC puts up a thread to notify you when the embargo is lifted. People on the West Coast are in the middle of their first subject test RIGHT now, so it’s definitely not lifted yet.

I was surpised - It was a lot easier than I anticipated. I omitted only one question that was really detailed, and there was a couple I wasn’t 100% on, but the E section was really easy!

Embargo lifted, what did was the answer for the ear pitch question?

What was the answer to the carrot experiement, with one in the fridge and one on the countertop!?

I’m also curious about the ear question.
And for the carrot, which question?

There was a question about putting one carrot in the refrigerator and one on the counter. The one on the counter sprouted, and it asked why.

For the carrot one, I put that the countertop one had a faster metabolic rate. It wasn’t b/c it had more light, because both were in black bags.

Answers C. D. and E. weren’t logically possible. I chose A in the end.

I said A as well, because the rest made no sense.

For carrot I put that the light allowed it to photosynthesize or w.e.

And I omitted the ear question… I had NO idea whatsoever haha.

I took M and actually found it pretty easy… I guessed flat out on one-- the tree growth question. I know what the right answer is but I don’t remember what I put down! haha I’d probably estimate ~750 but possibly better ???
