June 2016 Living Environment Regents

no it was open ended

if the curve didnt suck I would probably get a 98 or 99

it talked about how volcanic explosion and different mices

I agree, the curve kinda sucks this year in the A/A+ range

Its like impossible for anyone to fail the regents cause of the curve

I wrote that the volcanic eruption caused the envi to change color, so the mice with the black fur was dominant after the eruption, and they passed on their traits

Yeah but they made it harder to get a 95+ this year

yeah ik at least u have 2 chances at a 94

http://www.nysedregents.org/LivingEnvironment/616/lenv62016-cc.pdf hate this

The volcanic ash did not directly cause the mice to change color. There was a random mutation which caused a single mouse to have black fur, then this mouse camouflaged and was able to reproduce, so eventually the amount of black mice increased.

yeah I put camoflouge and I put that the volcanic eruption made the black fur a favorable trait.

I hope that I get all the short response credit because if I do, Im at a 97, counting the fact that the natural resources was the correct choice. Worst case scenario, I get a 95

Seeing all of these posts about some of the questions makes me think i probably got 3-6 points off, which means I’m still in the 90s. I’m pretty happy with my score

I hope the grader is lenient for me

I’m pretty sure I’m at a 97 right now. I got the tube in solution question wrong (put 95%) and the starch indicator question (put no visible change). Don’t want to drop below a 95 really

Me being in 8th grade, i think a 94-97 will be quite good for me, i didn’t expect much, i just wanted above an 85

Umm there was no visible change for the starch indicator one that’s correct…

I go to a small school with only 2 bio teachers, so we “swap” the exams with another small school since you need 2 other teachers to grade the exams. I am hoping that they will understand what I say!

Oh…i must’ve misread the beginning of this thread. Thank you!

For the bird and the twigs I said that some members of the species may have been infected with an illness and died off while others did not which gave them different survival rates, is that correct??? PLS
