June 4 2011 SAT Reasoning Post-Test Discussion

what do u guys think my total score out of 1600 will be if i didnt miss any math questions but left 2 blank and missed 5 CR questions?

@chemistrywarrior (11:53 post), I hope your right, but did the problem say “not drawn to scale”, cause if it did then we would not know which sides are parallel, but if it didn’t state “not drawn to scale”, then you could tell which sides are parallel. So for that question was the answer “it cannot be determined”?

“Question: Salmon are hatched in rivers; they then swim in the sea for years _. || Answer: before returning, with precision, back to the rivers they were hatched in”

Uhm that’s clearly wrong, because you cannot end a sentence in a preposition.

Trapezoids always have 2 parallel sides. Also, the diagram never said “not drawn to scale”.

@worriedjunior12 you can end a sentence with a preposition. The answer was definitely “before returning, with precision, back to the rivers they were hatched in”

@azn135, are you sure that the answer was 105 degrees? ask some friends and then let me know.

For the Max value one, shouldn’t it be A? Graphing wouldn’t make a difference on the SAT, because you never need to actually graph something. Plugging in numbers gave me A…
-(x+2)^2 + (-2) is the correct question.

do you think the curve will be generous for cr? in march i got 2 wrong and got a 780 but i think i got at least 3 wrong this time.

^Many people are saying that CR was abnormally hard, so the curve should be generous.

i hope so, because im expecting probably -4/5 because of the “largesse” and the “idiosyncratic” questions.

^lol I got the same ones wrong.

@Shaggy, the answer was B, -(x-2)^2+(-2)^2

Hey guys for one math section i think was an experimental had three equations in a sytem of equations with like a+2b+c=38
2a+2b+c=40
2a+b+2c=42
can anyone confirm that this was the experimental…also after this i had a problem with an upside down parabola with a I,II,III type problem where they give u the standar parabola thing in a(x+p)^2+r…did anyone have that…???

It was experimental because I didn’t have either of those, and I had a Reading experimental.

Also does anyone remember a problem with the average of a+b and a-b is like 80 or 40 and they said find a…i put a=40…anyone confirm…i think this might have been in the experimental section too

I don’t remember that problem, so it was probably experimental

which reading section was experimental?

Can someone PLEASE confirm the radius one. Is the answer 4 or 2?

I had a huge debate on this question during the test but i forgot what i put in the end. ■■■

You mean the one with two circles having radii of 6 and 8? The answer was 4.

what do you think i will get in math if i missed 2/3 mc questions, left 2 blank, and missed 2 gridins???
