Yeah OMG some were so easy (like the “which one is acceleration” or whatever one which was just basic Newton 2nd law and kinematics) but some like the moon one and the “electroscope” one (like what even is an electroscope??) were straight-up foreign to me and never showed up in a single study guide. I actually thought the optics and thermal ones were easy (I watched all the khan academy videos within the past week at 2x speed and they taught you way more than you actually needed, which ultimately just helped me) and had more trouble with some of the wave ones (although the majority of them were super easy to me). Overall I was happy with it and know I got an 800.
As for prep: I would definitely recommend the Princeton review book, khan academy videos, and erikthered’s study guide. I read the entire Princeton review book during the past month, and on Wednesday and Thursday I took the 2 practice tests. During the past week, I watched most of the non-physics 1 concepts on khan academy (I lied; I didn’t actually watch all of them but whatever, I still learned way more than I needed) and the night before I read through erikthered’s study guide (just look up “erikthered physics sat subject”–there’s also a useful formula one). That taught me pretty much all the material I didn’t know (I only took physics 1 the past year so there was a lot I didn’t know). Good luck to anyone taking it in the future!
