<p>If the probability of something happening is 1/(1+x), what is the probability of it NOT happening?</p>
<p>I took 1 - 1/(1+x), which gave me x/(1+x), or x/(x+1), anybody remember what they got?</p>
<p>Also, for the question: 12, 9, 15, 8, x, which of the following CANNOT be the arithmetic mean? </p>
<p>The answers were 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, but I was able to get all of the answers to work out, how about you guys?</p>

<p>i am coming to the conclusion that the second long math section was the experimental. i may be wrong, but that is what it seems as no one knows what i am talking about when i mention that problem. i recognize all the other problems you guys are talking about.</p>

<p>8, 9, 12, 15, x [12 is the median]
8, 9, x, 12, 15 [can be 10 or 11]
x, 8, 9, 12, 15 [9 is the median]</p>
<p>for the x+1 type it was x/(x+1)
and the 12/ 9/ 15/ 8/ x thing I forget but I think it had to do with median not mean? any other people have thoughts on this one?</p>
