June 6 2009 SAT I Thread

i became so used to correcting BB tests and getting immediate results… i wish i could see my scores right now

^That makes two of us…

I screwed up the essay as a result of having no CLUE about the format (didn’t practice) so I ended up having one example (though elaborate) and the time got called in the middle of a sentence… I left many math questions blank, but I think I got right most or all of the ones I did do… I think I got most or all of the other CR/Writing questions… but that ****ing essay will make or break my score…

I didn’t leave any questions blank. I filled all the space on the essay question, but only used two body paragraphs, because I figured having two well-completed ones and a full conclusion was bettet than having one good body paragraph, two short ones and a half-assed conclusion. A couple of the math questions stumped me, and I’m positive I got one gridded wrong, and probably one multiple choice as well. English went well though.
Also, I didn’t study for the SAT at all, because my ACT scores are high enough to use for admissions. The SAT will really only matter for me in terms of National Merit stuff, which decreased the pressure I felt.

Anagram-

I assume that the graders only care about the quality of your essay. I have gotten perfect scores on past essays having an intro, a long and well thoughout body paragraph, and a conclusion.

i am going to sit for it in october . wat was the topic of the essay anyways in the june 6 test ? i want to practice a little , and can anyone remember some tough math questions i wanna try to solve one and disucss them :D

Rtgrove123-you mean you’ve gotten 12s on some essays with an intro, one body paragraph, and a conclusion?

Ya…and I think there is one formatted like that in the Blue Book that was given a 6/6

Yeah you can make a 12 with a multitude of different essay formats if it’s written well enough. The recommended format by others on here and elsewhere is introduction, three body paragraphs, and conclusion, but that is only because it is the most common format of 12 essays.
