@Stanford plus another answer choice was correct, so the most correct answer was the one that was definitely gramatically correct.

Dunno if we’re still talking about colons here,
But one source says:
example c. Incorrect with colon
The recipe includes: sardines, anchovies, halibut, and herring.
(Do not place a colon between a verb and the rest of the sentence).

i remember getting “tasted” for an answer to a which one does NOT fit question

The one question that absolutely murdered me was the mural one with regards to “its largeness” or “a mural” giving the artist a unique voice. Does that sound familiar? What’d you guys say?

@Stanford- I think you’re misunderstanding your book. You can use a colon with 2 independent clauses like so:

Julie is playing basketball: her dad forced her to play.

OR, you can use them with lists. BUT ONLY FOLLOWING A COMPLETE INDEPENDENT CLAUSE

ex. My favorite sports are the following: basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

NOT CORRECT:

My favorite sports are: basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

@lacesea- The answer was “a large mural” if I remember correctly

i remember choosing an answer with the word large in it

I cant remember the exact sentence, but are you talking about the one where the choices were A)correct (are) B)would C)thereby something…? I couldn’t figure that one out. I ended up putting B.

@JalliDalli: Are you sure? I decided against “a large mural” because it was somewhat redundant (“mural” had already been used in the sentence once before).

^ the one you’re talking abt is “would”. The one we were talking abt had the choices: “largeness” “a large mural” and something else

Oh, and the one where it said that the X chromosome carries the gene for color blindness…x chromosome, men… the choices were a)correct b)colon c)can’t remember the rest. I put the colon, but I was really debating on it. did anyone else get that?

And does anyone remember the colon question specifically? I think I might have used a colon, but not sure.

^colon for sure

It was something like-

Color blindness is more prominent in men: they only carry one X chromosome

Oh ok, i put a large mural for that one.

Does anyone remember the question that was about the safety of the people on the horses. The underlined part was in other words, and one of the choices was ‘of course’?

for the x chromosome one, i put colon too! and i put large mural. does anyone remember the one what would NOT be acceptable on like the 1st passage (horses/pelvic movements) when the options were like
A. is variable from
B. doesn’t resemble
C. (was acceptable; thus, not the answer)
D. (" " " not the answer)

was it A or B?
i said A…

I think I put “Of course,”

^^ya i said “of course”

@liv4physicz

I put A too.

GOOD! man oh man im feeling good about this test…

how many can you get wrong and still get a 36? anyone know?

^ yea its is a variable from.
