i said it should not be inserted, because it contributes only slightly to the main topic of the essay

Is anyone here so far looking at -0?

@JalliDalli, I came in thinking the test wouldn’t be that hard, and boy was I wrong. :(

September here I come.

One question does the Barron’s ACT 36 give explanations for the correct answers?

@Liv4Physicz, do you have any Math tips? Since you did so well in that section.

nope; i thought i was a -0, but i guess i missed that one Hindi question since i didnt see it earlier in the paragraph… :/

Yes, it only contributed “slightly”. What was the option for it not being inserted?

And yes, as of now I’m clearly at -0.

Although at one point, it said that “She began to paint the mural, on the something-wall, —” and the sentence continued on. I chose to insert commas around it being on that certain wall. I could be wrong, and I think I am. I just thought of it as non-essential information that needed commas around it.

@ Stanford

yep, it does. i just got the book the night before the test (2 days ago), kept it in good condition, and im going to return it
hahah i have too many test prep books im spending my money on, and i think i made a pretty good score on this test lol

@ Central, i think you are incorrect on that one. its sorta necessary because its saying where they put it.

did you guys get “virbant ribbons”?

@CentralFC

I don’t remember that sentence…that stupid question about inserting the information about the patient positions on the horse was what I think sunk me.

@CentralFC im pretty sure i put commas around it too, if were thinking about the same question, because the information wasnt really necessary. is that wrong?

@liv4physiz Do you have any Math tips for me? I have heard Barrons ACT 36, is actually harder than the real test. Is there any truth to this?

@liv4physicz yeah i got vibrant ribbons

but i think that the information that was put in the commas (something about the wall being in LA i think?) had already been mentioned in the passage

Yes I think I remember the vibrant ribbons as an answer.

@Stanford- a positive is, though, the curve will be really good. Let’s hope for the best!

hahah, math tips? what exactly is it that you need help on?

yes, i’d say so. pretty much barrons anything is harder than the real corresponding tests. everything ive used barrons on to prep for, ive been confident coming out of the tests.

the only thing is it doesnt have any pract tests; just little sections of problems

What’s the question with vibrant ribbons?

Also, what did you guys put for the question about male vs. female colorblindness where the given word was “are”?

i picked the one that added something about being a genetic disease? i have no idea if that is right but i didnt think just ending it with are was correct, it didnt seem to be right

Yeah I don’t think the patient positions were necessary. The general statement was enough.

Oh, and so far I’m at a -0 too

EDIT:
@Central- The question didn’t ask to decide whether it was necessary or not. It asked what was the thing the author could add if he/she wanted to be SPECIFIC, and that was the most specific answer.

I left is just as “are” at the end of the sentence.

@CentralFC

I thought the same thing about the patient positions question, but other people think otherwise so I am not sure.
