My teacher this year failed to teach us any grammar. He claims that we can learn on our own and that it’s a waste of time.

The shimmering colored lights question still bothers me… I did put a comma between them but the more I read the less certain I get.

[Commas with Equal Adjectives](http://www.newsroom101.com/NR2/grammar/comma/equal.html)

Is “colored lights” a noun phrase?

I assumed ‘colored’ described ‘lights’. ‘Shimmering’ and ‘colored’ both describe ‘lights’ and therefore there needs to be a comma. Don’t worry about it, you did fine. ;)

Well the tall young man. Tall and young both describe man - but because “young man” is a noun phrase, no comma is needed.

I just think that colored lights is so awkward and uncommonly used. Think of pointing out Christmas lights as “Look at the colored lights!” I would believe that it would be a comma. Does anyone know the answer choices or which choice the one with the comma was?

Hmm w/e I’m dropping it.

So there was a who vs whom thingy… I put who, NOT whom… agreed?

Agreed. The answer was who.

^I third that.

^Fourth. Haha. I think it’s safe to say that this can be considered to be confirmed by now.

skaggs - are you still on track for a 36?

I am. Without the high curve that I want for science, it’s going to be close (35.625 currently). Of course, CR curve could be +3 instead of +1 like I’m imagining, so that would help. We’ll see!

Same here! Except I doubt reading will have a -3=36 curve. It will be at best-1=36, probably -1=35. Same with all others.

What was the sentence with the who vs whom? I can’t remember.

I 5th that, I ALMOST put whom… But I remember many pretests that were worded that way and the answer was “who”

Oh, I definitely doubt that reading will have a +3. That was complete wishful thinking. Probably 0 for English, 0 or +1 for Math, +1 or +2 for CR (probably +1, wasn’t too difficult overall), and +1 for Science.

What was the who/whom sentence saying?

My realistic goal is a 34.5. I hope the curve lets me pull it off. Looks pretty good so far!

I honestly hope the curve goes toward the CR, that was my weakness on the test. The English was easy overall (I think I missed about -15, I mean it’s not amazing but hey-- it’s still about a 27/28). On my essay I think I got a 9/10. That will increase my English by 2-3 points. The math, I would love a curve, because then it would increase my score :), I think the science was one of my highest (from the thread, I only missed one from what I’ve seen).

what about the one in the first passage where it said do you keep “It took long for the girl to learn how to prepare three courses?”. I said take it out because it’s about her philosophy.

Also, on the last passage the last question said why take out the sentence like “of course, some people don’t hear the things.” I said take it out because it undermines what was said earlier?

Anyone?

^agree on both of your answers.
