I am a junior in high school. I go to a private school in New Jersey with a dual curriculum (English + Hebrew) and I also have been taking Spanish for 4 years. I have a 2.73 GPA. Have not taken the SAT's yet.

EC'S:
- Business Club (Officer) (9th,10th,11th)
- Model UN in Canada (9th, 10th, 11th)
- Writer for School Newspaper (11th)

Volunteer at the Community Center in my town (started two weeks ago but plan to continue until April)

Writer for my town newspaper as well (Occasionally writing stories for it since August '09)

I do not take any honors or AP classes. My school has a very rigorous curriculum and it's pretty tough to get into those classes. Also, my school has a great reputation amongst many universities.

I know I still have some time left to do better (which I will!) but what are my chances of getting into: Bard College, Ithaca College?

Also, do you guys have any suggestions on what I should with my EC's? Like take more, or just focus on the ones I'm doing now, etc.

I don’t really know much about Bard College but you’ll have to raise your gpa to a 3.0 and get a 1500+ on your Sat. Though, if you do raise your grades within a year or so and do a couple more EC then I’m sure you’ll get in without much of a problem.

Just keep up a positive attitude and do your best and you’ll get in.
