Junior in high school

I'm a junior in high school and have long wanted to be inform about more universities, and my future career. I've already started looking at universities, and already know my top school... yet I have backups. I know I should be doing well in school etc... Although anything else you would recommand a junior to do while preparing for college? Anything you wish you would have done?
-Thanks

I wish I would have done more summer programs... because this coming summer is your last shot :/

I guess more varied EC's in general. Numbers can only say so much these days.

Summer programs would be interesting, although many lack my interest. So I wouldn't want to force myself into such.

Coolbrezze, there are SO many summer programs available, it'd be hard to NOT find one to fit your interest. Keep looking! You'd be surprised at what you can find- whether you want to do something with a foreign language, humanities, math/science, engineering, art, performing arts, business, community service, there are programs out there for all of those interests, and more.

I would prefer a summer program of science ( math would be okay) if I was to decide to be apart of a program. Although when do you think I should start looking at these programs.

Probably should add that I stay near Michigan State University... if that helps.

I would reccomend you start looking as soon as possible for summer programs. Don't be in a rush, though. If you don't start looking for another month or two, that's fine.

Does your school have a "summer opportunities fair" of some sort? If it does (my school does), then definitely go.

Otherwise, google can be helpful. Search for summer programs in science. A lot of top universities have "pre-college" programs for high school kids, with classes in everything from English to Art to Foreign Languages to (you guessed it) Science.
