Junior Scheduling

I’m choosing my schedule for next year soon. I’m a current sophomore and am a bit torn on which classes I should take next year.

It’s important to understand that I’m extremely lazy in regards to school work but I am considerably tact in doing the minimal work possible to make A’s.

Schedule #1

  • English IV AP
  • Chemistry Honors
  • Advanced Math Honors
  • US History AP (Hardest class at my school; approximately 15 students in each grade take it and it requires a ton of reading and note-taking. Students who take this class generally get 3's and above for the AP exam.)
  • French III Honors
  • Religion III (Basically a mandatory class every year for my school. Repetitive, useless, and awful. It's really Catholicism class not "Religion" class.)
  • Unstructured (Lunch)
  • Unstructured (Free Period/Study Hall)

Schedule #2

  • English IV AP
  • Chemistry Honors
  • Advanced Math Honors
  • US History Honors
  • French III Honors
  • Religion III
  • Computer Science Honors
  • Unstructured (Lunch)

So either APUSH and two “off” periods or US Hist Honors w/ Computer Science Honors.
(Computer Sci and APUSH are during the same period.)

Do you really love computer science? If so do the 2nd. I would pick APUSH, but that’s because I wouldn’t value CS as important (in my opinion). However, if you truly love it then just do USH honors.

I would go with schedule #2. It offers a nice variety and based on what you say about yourself, you probably would have trouble with APUSH (since “minimum” and “A” seems to be antinomic at your school for this class). In addition, have just lunch as unstructured time is better than A+ 2 unstructured.

If you are planning on doing something related to computer science in college, definitely take the class at least some time in high school, whether it’s next year or your senior year. On the other hand, if you are more interested in humanities, definitely go with APush.
