So I havent taken any sat's yet... hmm at all .. . my councelor tells me its going to be hard...

What do you guys suggest to do????

Take a SAT...

Buy a book (if you need one) and just take it. Dont worry about and see how you do and then decide what you should do... just...

Take a SAT...

as in SAT II? will i have time to take the SAT I?... I'm told I should take SAT IIs on june..

If you decide to take the SAT IIs in June, then the only time you'll be able to take SAT (with enough time for EA/ED) would be in October and leaving you only one chance for the test; you'd have to accept the score you get on that test...

I have a friend who missed the March 12 SAT and the May deadline. He has to take his SAT I in June and his SAT IIs in October and has the disadvantage since he has to review all the material he learned in AP Bio and US History this fall.

I suggest taking your SAT IIs in June so the subjects are aligned with what you're taking in class (if that's what you're planning to take). Give yourself time to prepare for the SAT I during the summer and take it in the fall. I think that's what you'll have to work with for now.

Try to do Standby in May and take it in June. Take II's in Oct and I again in Nov.

Hmm.. how about taking SAT IIs in june.. and SAT I in OCT.. then taking w/e I did worse in on nov? would that work too?....

The SAT II's I plan to take are chem, spanish (also testing IB tests for this) and.. I wasnt sure if I should also take math on the same date.. (I kind of wish I could take the math portion AFTER the SAT I).... so technically how many SAT II's can one take on the same month?

My suggestion would be to do what I did. (Minus the March SAT, since that's already over with..)

Begin prepping for the SAT now (if you haven't already... you should really start asap). Take your SAT II's in MAY.

Then, take the SAT I's in June. That gives you time to take them again in October if you're not happy.

I cant take the sat 2's in may..thats over already...

anyone......

you can always do sat IIs in June and ACT also in June. I believe they are on different dates.
Ok, I know SAT and ACT are different, but it provides you with flexibility.

Doesn't Kaplan or the College Board offer some kind of practice test?

theonekid,

I'd suggest getting the College Board book and taking a sample SAT or two. If you find it manageable, spend some time prepping and try to take the May test standby (but don't sweat it if you don't get in.)

Take the SAT IIs in June for sure. What you need to take really depends on the schools you want to apply to. Check what they require. If you need a math SAT II, you can take it in June...you can take up to 3, and though its a brain drain, 3 SAT IIs in one day is not impossible.

Take the ACT in June and/or September to hedge your bets.

Take the SAT I in October (if you didn't get into the May or didn't score what you think you're capable of). Save November for SAT IIs you need to retake, or the SAT I again. Most schools will also accept the December (and many the January) SATs also.

Hope that schedule helps.
