Alright, so I took the SAT I in May and didn't do as well as I expected, so I am definitely retaking. Trouble is, I signed up for SAT-IIs in June, and am now doubting that decision. A friend of mine who is now a senior said many people regret taking the SAT II's in June and SAT I's in October as opposed to the opposite, as October is a time when you lose focus on tests and care far more about college applications.

So, should I just go in, sacrifice my SAT-IIs in June in attempt to be a stand-in test taker for the SAT-Is, and have only 11 days to prepare (I don't need much preparation, to be honest, as its still fresh in my mind).

Or, should I stick with what I have and just take the SAT I's in October and SAT II's in June?

I've been thinking the same thing....Is it even possible to switch??

You can switch, and you have priority since you are already registered. The only glitch could be if the test center doesn't have enough tests, but that rarely happens. S was considering doing that in May, so I called College Board and checked. All he had to do was show up and say he wanted to switch to SAT I.

My question for you is which SAT IIs are you planning to take? If you're taking SAT IIs in a subject you're currently studying (USH, Chem, Bio, etc.), I'd stick with IIs. These tests tend to be much easier taken right after the class. You can keep prepping for the SAT I over the summer.

If you're taking the Math Ic or IIc, or the Lit, that makes it somewhat easier to switch to the SAT I. Yes, the math tests are based on school material, but you'll probably do a pretty good basic review of some math at the beginning of the school year.

I'm taking Lit, Math, and US History, doesn't really matter considering I took US History last semester. I've been self-studying and plus I'm sort of a History freak.

Then I think switching would be fine, if that's what you feel better about. You should be able to, though it's remotely possible they won't let you switch if they have no extra materials.

Funny, I'm taking both IIc and Lit. But I think I'm just going to take the SAT I's in October, and prep hard over the summer.

A lot of people have told me to follow my instinct and other people told me it's best to prep more, but I have a good feeling about this. I mean my last score was ok, but I know I could've did better, considering the fact I skipped A LOT on purpose. But I don't know, I still have a little time to think about it.
