I was wondering if I could get some help on the classes I should take my Junior year. For those who don’t know what AICE is, it gives college credit like AP classes. AS is the 1st level and A is the second and higher level.
My schedule is:
AP Statistics???
AICE Psychology A
Honors Pre-Calculus
Honors Physics
AICE US History A
AICE Global Perspectives AS
AICE English Literature AS
I’m not really sure I should take AP stats as the teacher at my school has a rep for being tough, and sometimes my school doesn’t allow people to double up on math (they do make exceptions). However, I don’t really know what other AP/AICE class I should take. I can take AP or AICE environmental but I don’t want to go home and have a bunch of busy work to do.
I also really want to take AICE Media Studies (the class that I would enjoy the most out of my whole schedule) but there’s a lot of writing to do as it’s an AICE class, and there are many projects in that class, and I can’t afford the stress of Media Studies with AICE Global (really hard research class, that i’m required to take if I want a scholarship). Lastly, I can take AICE Thinking Skills A Level, because if you have an algebra 2 credit you can skip to A-Level however that class is really hard too. My school offers a variety of AP and AICE courses. If the ones I just listed are too hard, which AP/AICE course should I take?
It looks like you’re just scared about the difficulty of the courses you can take. I’d say choose the course that you’re most interested in/would enjoy the most (It seems this would be AICE Media Studies). Trust me, you’re more likely to do well in a course if you’re interested in it.
I’m a current sophomore and I’m really confused about what courses I should be taking next years. Since I’m a year ahead than most people in my grade my current schedule looks like this.
AVID
AP European History
Honors Chemistry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors English
Photography
Spanish 3/4
Although at the moment I’m taking AP Euro, it has been a struggle just to keep an A. My schedule for next year will probably look like this but I honestly don’t know.
AVID
AP Spanish
AP Lang
US History (Don’t know if I should Take APUSH)
Honors Physics
Pre-Cal (Not sure to take honors or not)
Student Government (ASB)
(And I’m self-studying for AP Human Geography exam.)
(Also might take some community college classes.)
I honestly need serious advice APUSH, AP Lang, and Spanish are the only Ap’s offered for juniors, I’m better at English than history, and I’m fluent in Spanish. I don’t know if I should take APUSH or not, I really don’t wanna stress myself out, but like I’m low-key down to take it. Any Advice?
Great schedule and completely doable, I believe in you! If I were you I would try to take Honors Pre-Calc, but if you find yourself to struggle take regular. If you perform better in English definitely take AP Lang. I would highly consider taking AP Spanish if you are fluent in spanish, and I would consider preparing for it over the summer if you are not confident in your skills. As for APUSH, I would consider it as you currently can maintain an A in AP Euro, however if it’s too much with your other classes I would consider dropping down to Honors. AVID is great for you and it will really help you manage your classes and as far as I’m concerned, Student Government might be a great class for you to review or do hw in. I would take all of those classes, and if it’s too much, don’t take community college courses as you might not want to damage your college GPA. If you don’t mind, you can take a summer community college class so you have only that class to focus on!
@learnerr21 :
You don’t need to take AP stats.
You do need a foreign language.
