Junior Year Schedule

So, I'm trying to select my junior year schedule, and so far I have it looking like this:

AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP English Lang
AP US History
AP Psychology or AP Spanish Lang
Physics I Honors
Debate III Honors

My tough decision is between Psych and Spanish. I know colleges see Psych as a BS class, but with four other relatively tough APs and a bunch of extracurriculars like debate, I'm thinking I might need a breather class. I would really like to take AP Spanish, but I'm definitely not fluent, and I won't take it if I know I'm not going to get A's (which I've heard is relatively hard to do with the teacher at my school). For a school like Yale, do you think it would matter if I took Psych over Spanish?

If you don’t take AP Spanish are you planning on taking any Spanish class next year? Colleges like to see continuity of world language classes. Don’t stop taking Spanish in some form. If you feel that AP Spanish would be too hard, considering your course load, then at least take some other Spanish class (Literature, etc.) and then take AP Spanish the next year in 12th grade. You don’t want to hurt your GPA, but at the same time colleges want to see the most rigorous schedule. So taking AP Spanish senior year might be something to think about.

You definitely don’t want to overwork yourself junior year, but in general, Spanish Lang >> Psych. Seriously. If you hate Spanish, don’t take it; if you like it but are generally on the fence, take it. Challenging courseload > 4.0 with BS classes.
