Is UMich ever too big to handle? How big are sports there, overbearing? And hows life off-campus?

1.) No, Michigan is not too big to handle. We basically make our own smaller communities via friends and clubs in a larger campus community. Now, I see people that I know all over the place. The campus itself doesn't take long to get to know, and the classes aren't always as big as many people think. My largest class is Stats 350 with two to three hundred students in my particular lecture, and all of the stats lectures cover the same material at the same time so one could go to any of them and take in the same information. The lectures are also broken up into smaller lab sections where we review the material covered in the lecture and learn how to use SPSS on thee computers. My history class has a cap on it at fifty students, and my Spanish and English courses each have approximately twenty students.

2.) Sports are pretty big, but they don't overshadow everything meaning they're not the be all and know all. You'd be surprised. There are many, many different types of organizations on campus in which one can become involved. Plus, academics are hit heavily so the students are the type that, as the cliche goes, "work hard and play hard."

3.) There's ALWAYS something going on in Ann Arbor, and there's something here for every type of person. It's a great place to relax as well as have fun.
