I've just noticed that when people talk about college admissions, they don't put too much focus on senior year. Maybe I'm reading the wrong threads, but I just want to clarify if first semester senior grades are important to colleges. I'm only taking 2 AP classes this year (the only ones offered), and I will be taking 4 senior year and I want colleges to see that.

To reassure you—colleges will know you are taking the 4 AP’s you senior year as you will mention your classes in your application. The test score you receive on the 2 AP’s will also provide inside into your strength of your application. Some schools will rescind their offer should your grades fall below a certain criterion-so TRY to avoid senioritis!
Focus on doing well this junior year-and G’Luck! APOL-a mom

First semester grades in senior year are important! Mid term reports could make or break your application and if senioritis hits, the school might reject you because you couldn’t keep up with the coursework or you slacked off.

Yes, they are important.

Senior year grades are the most important ever. these grades typically will show a correlation to how well you will do college. you have to remain focused even with senioritis in higher-level courses because colleges will notice. good luck
