Hi all,

Summer school ended for me last week and I got a big fat F in my macroeconomics class.
I am an art major but unfortunately this economics class was required. The bad thing about it is, I am going to be a senior this year and want to get into grad school but my gpa is dropping because of all these unnecessary classes I have to take. I have a 2.37 so far.

Has anyone here ever been in the same situation?

I feel like a failure.

Yes. Last semester, I failed my english comp 2 class (but strangly I got a B in Calculus…) and my GPA went from a 3.41 to 2.8. sigh

Could you take microeconomics? When I was looking up classes, that one sounded easier.

Yup! I failed microbiology (as well as most of my classmates) and it dropped my GPA to a 2.9, which was horrible considering I was making excellent grades in all my other classes and had a 4.0 in high school. I am a nursing major and I needed at least a 2.75 to get into the program, so I nipped by! Luckily, I made up that credit over the summer by taking anatomy. (I was actually pretty lucky that I didn’t fail microbiology too horribly; one of the girls in my class made a 30% in microbiology and it murdered her GPA!)

Don’t feel bad. I am pretty sure that at least half of students fail at least one class in their college career. It is a learning experience; just make sure to do better and learn from your mistakes. :o)

BTW… that whole saying of “Cs makes degrees” is true. I say that as long as I pass and do the best I can, I am happy.
