Anyone else?

The only negative thing about you... is that you sound like a nerd....

I mean, you might sound like a nerd to the admissioners.

All your activites are related to academic..steroe asian type. and they might think you did all those just to get into a good college. But again, they might not think that at all.

I think you chance would increase dramatically if you play a sport or do something unusual. But again, that's just my oponion.

From an academic perspective: you are good to go! son!

Well, I guess I am sort of a nerd :). But you have to admit a lot of people who get accepted to these schools are nerds too, right?

I did mention on my application that I used to swim (grades 9-10) at my local YMCA, though. Could that help?

ives are unpredictable, UVA is no safety due to OOS and ethnicity. prob in tho. Good shot at all good luck. Return favor?

Thanks, what does OOS mean?

Anyone else have any feedback?

Listen, USimperialist. You and I are very much in the same boat. Exact same unweighted GPA, same SAT scores, and incredible strength in what we love (my thing is writing and language--national awards in writing, taking AP Italian after learning the language for the prerequisite exam within a week, English teacher says I'm the top of her 4-decade career, founded and run the debate club). I'm freaking out, too. But this is how I look at it--we've got intelligence and clear passion. They admit people, not numbers with legs. That is where I get my confidence, and that's how I chill out. You've got a solid shot, but remember to find beauty and happiness in your mathematics, no matter where you study it.

Anyone who wants to comment on that, feel free.

An update on my midyear grades-

I got a B in PHY103 and a B+ in MAT211 at Princeton.

I think my other grades are as follows:

AP Government and Politics- 93
AP Economics- 95
English Honors- 87 (don't know how this happened)

How badly will these three three Bs on my midyear report affect my chances? I have a feeling I might have significantly hurt my chances.

Chill out. You will be fine. At least one of the big three will take you if you are fine with that.

I think you have a great chance at all of those schools, regardless of your GPA. Keep in mind that the colleges will consider the rigor of the courses you are taking. They would much rather see someone get a B in an AP class than in an on-level class. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the positive replies, but I have 8 Bs on my transcript since Freshman year; I seriously doubt my chances at this point.

Anyone care to comment?

I know my case is kind of weird, but I would really appreciate it if a few people took a stab at it.

I would really appreciate it.

There has to be someone with something to say...

Everyone said you have a good chance. Go for it!! And what major are you planning to take? I haven't done those things that you've done hehe, but I think I'm going to do something in med/pharm/business so I'm looking for schools like USC, UCLA, UC Berkley, Stanford, etc. If you don't make those colleges, you have a very high chance of being a top student at another school anyways; then, you can transfer to or attend the GRADUATE school of one of those Ivies that specializes in your intended degree.

Dude, you've got 3 pages of people commenting on your chances.... even with 8 B's you still have a very good chance at many top schools with those SAT I/SAT II/AP test scores and a good GPA.... and you've taken math classes at PRINCETON.

IMO, the math classes at Princeton outweigh the 8 B's on your transcript.

@Narusakuu-

I was going towards medicine or pharmacy, because I have a couple of relatives who do that I think that would be someting good to go into. I actually also wanted to apply to some of the UCs, but my parents said they were too far away :(. I have been accepted to Rutgers Pharmacy, though, if that helps anyone with the chances.

@The Government-

Thanks for your opinion. I really hope you are right about this, and I am the one that is just being paranoid.

Same here, my relatives want me to go for pharmacy because it isn't as stressful as being a physician/ M.D., involves saving lives (although indirectly), and the pay is still good enough for a very good life (with free time with the family, etc.) If you're planning to go into pharmacy, I think it would be better to go to Rutgers and get a certain enrollment into its pharmacy school, but if you plan on going to like a top medical school, I guess enroll for Harvard and MIT(going to their undergrad. and doing well gives a huge advantage for making into their medical schools, I hear). I live in California, so I'm hoping that I will be accepted into USC Pharmacy School and Business School after undergrad (although that seems reallllly hard.) But if, for some reason, I change my mind in my last year of high school, and decide to go for like comp sci. and business grad, then I'll apply to Stanford (although I probably won't make.) By the way, do you want to chance me for fun? :D

^Sure, what are your stats?
