I applied to the University of Wisconsin - Madison on Sept. 24th and was just notified last week that I am an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Program. On my certificate it said my name would be notified to 1,500 colleges.

Today I received a letter from the UW- Madison. It says, "I commend you on your success as an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Program, and also recognize the dedication you've shown in your high school career. As a talented student, you will continued to be challenged if you choose to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison."

They continue by saying "...and your voice as a student of color has an important place here."

It was signed (electronic copy of signature) by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

I feel as though the diction is very positive and it makes me nervous.

This is my dream school guys. Does this mean I have a chance?

Yes, it’s a positive. They figure you’re going to get several good offers and want to make sure you’re still strongly considering them. Send the person who sent you a letter an email telling them UWIsconsin is your first choice and explain why (with academics, preferably :p)
