Just graduated from UCSD, and willing to try and answer questions!

Hi everyone! First off congrats to you all who've been admitted to UCSD, it really is a fantastic university.
As the post title suggests, if anyone has any questions about UCSD, I will do my best to answer them accurately.

Some facts:
- Transferred to UCSD in 2011 - Sixth College
- I studied communication and theatre.
- I lived in the Village for 2 years before moving out off campus for my last year.

Ask away!

The web site says that housing move in is September 27th. Since I am an out of state incoming freshman, I need to take the only orientation possible which is on September 23-24, but I also signed up for Early Lodging. My first question is, am i supposed to show up on my early lodging day, which is September 22 with all my belongings for the entire school year? Am I supposed to stay in this room for the year, or just for orientation? Even though official move in day is the 27th, do I stay in the room from 22 to 27th? Do I stay for 22-24th and then get removed until the 27th, when I move back in again? Is the room mate I get during the orientation going to be my room mate for the year?

Edit~~ I have confirmed housing contract

Also~~ How and where should I go to meet new people and make new friends?

Also ~ Pros and Cons of 1 room mate vs 2 room mates? Which do you recommend

I hope you’re doing well with everything! Um one of the questions I’ve had is, do you have any advice for what a freshmen should do their first quarter? I’m a pre med so probably much more different courses than you but do you happen to know anything about the muir writing class? Any advice for that and whether I should take it my first quarter or not? Or the SPANISH CLASSES ! Who should I talk to if I want to be placed in Spanish 1 A (I was placed in Spanish 1C… but I just guessed on the placement test. I have like no well knowledge in Spanish…).

I wouldn’t take Muir writing class the first quarter. I’ve heard it’s not an easy A.
